Craven iPhone Application

The largest country music festival in Western Canada, the Craven Country Jamboree, attracts approximately 100,000 people for the 4-day event annually. With the influx of phone calls in the area at the time of the event, tracking down friends and finding festival information was almost an impossibility. Captive designed an app that made it easier for attendees to find information on both a micro and macroscopic scale.

Output Aside from creating an event app with just a schedule and emergency information, Captive recognized the issues with the influx of phone calls in the area at the time of the event. This congestion of the cellular network made tracking down friends and finding basic or emergency information almost impossible. Captive designed and developed an app that made information easier to receive through both static and social channels. Furthermore, Captive created an interactive map that housed vendor information, and allowed users to share their current location with friends via text message or email.

Outcome The app featured information about the concert lineup, FAQs, and social feeds, but also allowed users to share their current location with friends, alleviating the confusion of endless rows of trailers and tents. The app has been downloaded by approximately 21% of attendees since its launch (as an iPhone native app, this statistic is comparable to the IOS market share).
